Description

Immediate opening for an experienced professional to assist faculty, staff, and students with art history, music, and screen studies collections; oversee cataloging and use of these collections, related equipment, and resource library study rooms /labs; and provide tech support for department audio/visual equipment. The collections include slides, sheet music, CD’s, videos, tapes, LP’s, DVD’s, laser discs, and films.


Specific duties include, but are not limited to: procuring, cataloging, labeling, and data entry of the various collections; developing and maintaining a digital database of images for art history; overseeing ordering, reserving and delivering films, videos, DVD’s, etc.; supervising/training student workers; assisting faculty with the preparation of class websites; updating the department website; and other duties as assigned.

Must have a BA, Master preferred, and 2+ years experience in resource library field and knowledge of art history, music, and/or screen studies; strong computer and technological skills; experience with both Apple and Windows software and operating systems, including FileMaker Server 11, Filemaker Pro 11, Adobe Photoshop CS6, Microsoft Office Suite, HTML, CSS and/or Adobe Dreamweaver, SmartBuy Plus or any large purchasing software; WebCheckout or any online inventory system, top-notch organizational skills; and strong customer-service orientation.

This position will have the month of June off each year. 11-month salary expected to be low to mid thirties depending on experience, with excellent benefits including family tuition, retirement plan, 18 days of paid vacation leave; health insurance providing 12 month coverage, and many more.
