The British Museum’s ResearchSpace project (www.researchspace.org) is a highly innovative and creative undertaking looking to harness the potential of Linked Open Data and semantic ontologies for use in a collaborative online research system based on harmonised cultural heritage datasets. The project will need to develop online research tools for discovery, annotation, communication and workflow, and deliver a system that is accessible to academic researchers working in different humanities disciplines, as well as other interested experts and enthusiasts. The administrator will project administrative and project management support to the project and assist in work shopping for requirements, dissemination of results, and attraction of new funding.Key areas of responsibility:
Administrative support;
- Project management;
- Documentation and coordination of documentation;
- Workshops and dissemination;
- Funding proposal writing and coordination.
The ideal candidate will be familiar with academic environments and understands the life cycle of an academic research project. You will have a good understanding of information system development from a project perspective and have relevant project management skills. The successful candidate will understand the tools used for software projects including Atlassian Jira and Confluence and have excellent documentation and communication skills and will be able to provide a range of administrative support including budget reports and monitoring. You will also possess good research skills and be comfortable contributing to academic papers and documents, and be a proven public speaker in academic forums.
