Description
EBSCO Information Services is looking for a knowledgeable and resourceful Technical Product Manager to join our Software as a Service Product Management team. This position will be a “product owner” responsible for defining and driving search-related platform and feature enhancements for the EBSCOhost and EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS) platforms. This position will report to and collaborate closely with the Director of Product Management, Search, and work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver a high quality search user experience for EBSCO products and services.Primary Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Director of Product Management, Search, and key business and technology stakeholders to translate business priorities into scoped project proposals
- Collaborate with product managers, product analysts, software engineers, enterprise architects, UI designers, and other technology professionals on complex technology projects
- Take a leadership role throughout the product development life cycle to drive excellence in the overall technical execution of the product
- Work closely with technology teams to communicate and clarify product requirements for new features and product enhancements
- Present in-progress and recently completed product enhancements to diverse audiences at internal stakeholder meetings
- Lead or support various product management analysis projects (e.g., usage analysis, user research, competitive analysis)
- Influence EBSCO’s broader search platform strategy
Skills
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree in Computer Science or Masters of Library and Information Science or 6 years directly relevant experience
- 3+ years experience working or consulting in library, publishing, or information industries with an aptitude and interest for defining software product requirements and working with technical teams and diverse stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience working directly with technology teams in a product owner role
- Experience working within Scrum or other Agile development environments
- Experience defining requirements for new software and services, as well as enhancements to existing, legacy systems
- Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and/or evaluating enterprise search software highly desired
- Demonstrated experience with website analytics or business intelligence software
- Detail-oriented, analytical thinker that can apply structure to complex problems
- Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize workload effectively, and thrive in a dynamic and complex environment
- Effective written and oral communication with multiple levels of business and technical leadership
- Maturity, judgment, negotiation/influence skills, and leadership skills
