The Free Library of Philadelphia seeks a dynamic and engaged technology leader to play a key role in positioning the Library as a recognized, trusted, and relevant resource for our community in an increasingly digital world. The successful candidate for this newly created position will possess a shared vision of the importance of technology in the delivery of modern public library services and will be able to effectively communicate and implement that vision and related strategies.The Deputy Director for Digital Strategies and Information Technology is responsible for the planning, development, management, and implementation of customer-centered digital services activities, programs, services and initiatives consistent with the Library’s strategic direction and vision. He or she will inspire staff to keep abreast of cutting-edge technologies and develop mechanisms for communicating with and assessing the needs of both staff and community residents. He or she will also represent FLP in local, regional, and national conversations related to libraries and technology.
