Description
The Systems Programmer / Specialist plays a critical role within the Enterprise Operations group of the Libraries Information Technology department. This position is responsible for managing the core infrastructure that supports the Libraries’ advanced use of virtual servers and desktops and serves as a local expert on the relationships between servers, applications, and storage. This work includes monitoring systems performance and working with customers, specialists, and vendor support technicians to resolve highly complex problems across interrelated systems and to make recommendations for technical changes to prevent future problems. In addition, this position collaborates with other Libraries staff to determine appropriate systems architecture solutions, including creation of Linux / Windows servers, installation, configuration, and maintenance of standard and custom software, and administration of a variety of database systems.How to apply
