Description

The Iowa State University Library is currently seeking applicants for a Cataloging and Metadata Librarian. This position will prepare and enhance original bibliographic and complex member copy records in assigned subjects and formats according to national bibliographic standards and local practice, using Library of Congress classification and subject headings.   This position will serve as a resource for serials cataloging, answering questions and making decisions on the cataloging treatment of potential new serial titles, and resolving complex problems related to existing serials cataloging records.  The position will also work closely with library teams needing guidance on scholarly publishing models and metadata for serials in the local digital repository.  In addition, this position will support the creation, extraction, editing and quality control of metadata under the oversight of the metadata manager.  The incumbent will collaboratively implement local metadata schema and develops crosswalks and metadata application profiles to promote access to the library's digitized and born-digital materials, and may lead projects or serve as a member of a project team.  For complete text, preferred qualifications and application instructions: http://www.iastatejobs.com/applicants/Central?quickFind=85480, Vacancy ID: 140457.
