The Board of Trustees of the Rose Memorial Library, an association library located in Stony Point, NY, is seeking an energetic and innovative candidate to serve as Director.  The Director reports to a 7 member Board and is responsible for all aspects of library management, including supervising a staff of 12 employees (7.3 FTE).

The optimal candidate will be forward thinking and creative; have a strong background in technology and 21st century library skills; and possess excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.  Experience with a library building project and with public referendums seeking to increase community-based library funding is preferred.  The successful candidate will have the ability to articulate the library’s vision and mission, and to inspire community support.        

This is a full-time, managerial position.  Individual health insurance will be paid in full by the Library.  The salary range is competitive and an incentive bonus will be given upon passage of a local referendum to finance the construction and operation of a new library building.

Minimum qualifications include an MLS (or equivalent) from an ALA accredited program, ability to earn a NYS Public Librarian Professional Certificate, and prior employment as a Library Director, preferably in New York State.
