Description
McMaster University Library is seeking an innovative librarian who will provide general oversight for the Library’s myriad public online interfaces and Web services, taking a user-centred approach and acting as an organizational advocate for users.Working collaboratively with other library staff, the Digital Experience Librarian ensures consistent branding, accessibility, and usability across all digital interfaces; leads the exploration/adoption of new technologies; trains staff to create and manage their own content; and supervises four staff who provide Web and systems support, and ensures that their work is responsive to operational imperatives as well as broader strategic needs.
This is an ideal position for a librarian who is intrigued by the challenge of making a library Website relevant and productive for students and faculty. We seek someone who brings vision, energy, and creativity to any situation, and who enjoys working with staff who represent a wide array of experiences. We are flexible in our approach to technical challenges, and tend not to be dogmatic about platforms and tools.
