The George Washington University Law School, Jacob Burns Law Library seeks a qualified librarian for its head of electronic services position to begin as early as July 1, 2014.

The effective management of electronic resources requires a librarian with a holistic view of such resources and who can fulfill a central role in their acquisition, delivery, and support. It requires a librarian with vision who can effectively evaluate emerging trends in the publishing, delivery, and use of electronic resources in an academic law environment. Management of electronic resources requires a firm understanding of technologies and digital initiatives and their impact on library services. A librarian position empowered to push the library to the forefront of electronic resource collection and research integration will enhance the library experience for our students, faculty, alumni, staff, and other library users.

Basic qualifications for this position are an ALA-accredited MLS (or equivalent) and an ABA-accredited JD (or equivalent), or completion of degree requirements by May 31, 2014, and a minimum of three years of experience managing electronic resources or working with technologies and systems that provide an understanding of the content, structure, and delivery of electronic resources.
