Description

The Duke University Libraries (DUL) seek a collaborative, knowledgeable and service-focused leader to become the next Associate University Librarian of Information Technology Services (AUL ITS). Reporting to the Vice Provost for Library Affairs, the AUL ITS guides and oversees library information technology in support of the University’s academic and research endeavors.   The AUL ITS will lead 25 staff members supporting infrastructure and network, application development, user services and business process automation.  The division currently includes four departments: Digital Projects and Production, Discovery and Core Services, Digital Repository Services and Data/GIS Services.  S/he also serves as the DUL’s chief liaison with the University’s Office of Information Technology (OIT) and with other technology units on campus and in the area.   The DUL represents a highly collaborative, service-oriented environment in which tradition is valued, experimentation is encouraged, change is expected, and the intellectual life of the university is celebrated.  DUL has been consistently recognized by students, faculty and visiting scholars for our outstanding digital and print resources, exceptional service and commitment to meeting student needs.   The DUL has a reputation for experimentation, creativity, and technological innovation. Some of our current projects include the transition to Kuali Open Library Environment (OLE); the construction of a new academic service hub emphasizing technology-focused library services (The Research Commons); the development of long-term storage solutions for Duke-generated scholarship and research data; the rollout of IBM’s Business Process Management application for managing electronic resources; the expansion of data management and visualization services; and the growth of our innovative digital collections program.   Visit our website for the full position description and application process: http://library.duke.edu/about/jobs/aulits
