QUT Library provides dynamic and innovative access to information resources and services. Its educational and resourcing activities are supported by the broad knowledge and skills of its staff teams. The quality of its services is enhanced through partnerships with clients, University colleagues and external organisations
The Role
In this role you will be responsible for the planning, management and effective implementation of information technology to support QUT’s Library services across all campuses and for the management of staff of the Library eServices Section. The role also provides advice to the Library Leadership Team on directions for Library eServices, and IT planning and implementation.
The Library’s core focus on technology solutions supports the University’s learning and teaching and research goals. The Library is focussing on even greater online delivery and engagement with clients. The Library will continue to deliver an ever-expanding and complex range of electronic information products and services alongside ongoing library services. The identification, analysis and integration of a range of emerging information technologies is also a key part of the role.
The Library is developing its eServices, including the website, as innovative and effective service delivery platforms. A growing emphasis on collaborative forward planning of system development and maintaining competitive and best practice in an environment of reduced resources are some of the main challenges for this position; to improve and enhance information technology provision. It is the position’s role to provide the impetus for change and to recommend strategies for meeting and resourcing IT requirements.
