Description
PurposeTo create and manage the digital production for a one year project to digitize, process and make available Ransom Center archival collections via the Ransom Center digital asset management system, CONTENTdm.
Essential Functions
Perform post processing, quality control and upload scans to the Ransom Center digital asset management system, CONTENTdm. Repurpose EAD metedata for the CONTENTdm environment. Supervise student employees. Create project-specific digitization workflows. Operate digitization equipment and associated software. Generate project reports and maintain project statistics.
Marginal/Incidental functions
Other related functions as assigned.
Required qualifications
Master's degree in Library/Information Science from an ALA-accredited program. Demonstrated knowledge of metadata standards commonly used in digital environments, specifically EAD and Dublin Core. Demonstrated organization, communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience using Adobe software and CONTENTdm. A minimum of one year of experience creating and implementing digitization processes and workflows for documents and images. Experience with project management and creating documentation and statistics. Supervisory experience and prior experience working in an academic library or special collections environment.
