Ex Libris is seeking a Solution Architect Associates for either our Des Plaines, Illinois or Newton, Massachusetts offices. The Solution Architect will serve as liaison between the Ex Libris sales and product management teams, specializing in the company’s evolving unified resource management system, Alma, and Primo, our resource discovery platform. Reporting to the Director of Sales Operations, the Solution Architect works with Sales Account Managers to understand the customer’s needs and assist in delivering compelling product presentations and demonstrations. This individual will act as a resource to the sales team on Alma/Primo product functionality, technical issues, and the interoperability of the software with existing or evolving customer applications. The Solution Architect will accompany sales account managers on customer visits; provide consultation to account managers and prospective customers, via the telephone, email or webinar; and assist with RFP responses. The Solution Architect will attend ALA meetings, customer user group meetings, sales meetings, and occasional industry conferences.

Required Qualifications: The position requires experience with automated library systems and knowledge of current and evolving library practices and trends; an MLIS degree is desirable. The ideal candidate can deliver public presentations with ease and expertise; can work both independently and collaboratively with colleagues and customers; and has strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills. The position requires about 50% travel.
