Description

DC Public Library seeks a Project Manager (PM) to lead a two year grantfunded project to embed digital preservation tools and education in public libraries across the United States, following the model of the DCPL Memory Lab. The PM will mentor and oversee the seven Memory Lab Network sites training and acquisition of tools needed to create digitization stations and classes that will build public knowledge and skills around the complex and paralyzing problems of personal digital archiving.
The PM will work closely with DC Public Library Special Collections and Labs departments to coordinate the project implementation under the direct supervision of the Project Supervisor. The PM will serve as the primary point of contact and mentor for Memory Lab sites, advising them on equipment selection and purchase, planning of public classes and workshops,and digitization lab set up, workflows, and digital preservation practices. Additional responsibilities will include project outreach and publicity; management of advisory board activities, including selection of libraries for project participation; planning cohort training; evaluation and analysis of Memory Lab resources; and presentation and publication of findings.

This a term position lasting two years and working 39 hours per week. Approximately two weeks of travel per year will be
required.
