POSITION SUMMARY

Provides day-to-day operational management and support of Sierra, an integrated library system (ILS), and troubleshoots complex ILS issues through research and collaboration. Provides initial support for users of Embark, a digital asset management system, ILLiad, an interlibrary loan application and other library applications as needed. Offers basic technical and software support to library users and staff. Participates in assessment efforts throughout the library.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or three years of experience working in libraries, or a related field.
Ability to adapt to rapid change and to problem solve and to exercise creativity and initiative.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Capable of learning a variety of library applications and troubleshooting a variety of equipment.
Demonstrated success in collaborative problem solving and working across organizational boundaries.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in an academic library.
Experience with operating and managing an ILS, e.g Sierra or Alma.
Experience with digital asset management systems, e.g Embark or CONTENTdm.
Familiarity with one or more programming languages, such as SQL, PHP, or JavaScript.
Experience working in a collaborative environment.
