Temporary Project: Web Programmer (Public Library - Los Angeles, CA)

Web Programmer to work on an article indexing application that is made available to the public for searching local events and news.

Requirements:

Candidates should have knowledge of and experience with the following:

PHP or classic ASP MySQL MS Access

Project Background:

There is a need to make the quickly growing Access Db run faster and more efficiently.

Goal is to have web queries run faster, keeping Access as a “front-end” “GUI” so that library staff can keep using a familiar environment for data entry, while moving the “back-end”to MySQL to improve online access.

This project requires 2 things:

1. Porting the db to MySQL.
2. Reconstructing the functionality found online so that it queries the new MySQL db.
