ITHAKA is a non-profit academic services organization. ITHAKA is the owner of academic journal provider JSTOR. ITHAKA employs about 250 to 300 people.
According to its self-description, ITHAKA "helps the academic community use digital technologies to preserve the scholarly record and to advance research and teaching in sustainable ways."
The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation developed Ithaka with "the broad mission to help the academic community take full advantage of rapidly advancing information and networking technologies".
